The Great Lakes State Brings Forth Many Talented Creatives At Film Festival

Detroit, Michigan Music Video Director wins BIG at #GLCFF2024. Anthony T. Green, director of the Music Video Dwell In The House featuring Sherrie Nunn Berry and Greg Pearson (producer/writer). The film was awarded Best Music Video and Audience Choice at the GLCFF2024 (The Great Lakes Christian Film Festival) held in Buffalo, New York, October 17-20, 2024. The Music Video was nominated in several categories, and a finalist in 9 taking home Best Director, Best Writer, Best Song in Music Video, as well as, Audience Choice. Notre Dame student Andrew Imai also was honored with his film The Last Vigil, and Barry Lyons returned with his documentary short film Tangier: Faith and Loss.

Michigan have been home to several award winners and nominees at the Great Lakes Christian Film Festival over the past 10 years. Walter Marshall in 2015, Heather Fairbanks in 2017, Rachel Smith with 2 films in 2020, Bethany Hazelitt in 2022, Nathan Roels, Kevin DeVries and Alan Maki in 2023, plus Barry Lyons and Andrew Imai in 2024. Actor Dean Cain, a native of Michigan, has been featured in many Christian films over the past decade, including God’s not Dead, and was featured on the GLCFF2021 Best Feature Film Break Every Chain.

Michigan has always been a home to creative arts, including those in the the music scene, with Motown’s greatest recording arts, as well as, rock & roll, heavy metal, and rap artists. One thing is for sure, there will never be a shortage of great talent in the Great Lake State. We are making plans to host events there soon. We look forward to seeing more work coming from this great state.

Press Release: #GLCFF2024 Kicks Off October 17-20 in Buffalo

(Buffalo, New York, October 9, 2024) We are proud to announce our 10th annual Great Lakes Christian Film Festival, October 17-20, 2024, 9am – 9pm, at Bread of Life Church, 1638 South Park Ave, Buffalo, NY 14220. We will feature over 50 faith-based and family friendly films from around the globe, from Documentary and Narrative Features, to Student Shorts and Music Videos. In addition will have workshops, industry panels, and conclude with an Awards Ceremony, Sunday Night at 6pm. Cost ranges from $12 to $199 (VIP). Group discounts available for FIVE or more attendees.
Panel Discussions and Workshops scheduled, include two sessions hosted by David Heavener, a 35-year veteran in Hollywood as Actor, Producer, and Director. Saturday Night at 7 pm we will screen the premiere of the film Lucy and the Lake Monster, starring Western New York Actors DG Peltan, Lori Francisco-Peltan, and Shawn Patrick Greene, directed by Richard Rossi. PLUS, Frank Rossi, of Buffalo Film Casting, will discuss his involvement in casting for the film from Angel Studios, Cabrini.

Great Lakes Christian Film Festival Returns for its 10th Edition
October 17-20, 2024 at the Bread of Life Church in Buffalo, NY

Buffalo, NY – October 9, 2024 – The Great Lakes Christian Film Festival (GLCFF) is thrilled to announce its 10th annual celebration of faith-based films and filmmakers. The festival will take place from October 17-20, 2024, at the Bread of Life Church in Buffalo, NY. Over the past decade, GLCFF has grown into one of the premier events in Christian cinema, showcasing films from around the world that inspire, uplift, and encourage audiences.

Founded in 2014 by Shawn Patrick Greene, GLCFF has become a beacon for faith-based filmmakers, offering them a platform to share their stories and creative visions. This year’s festival promises to be a memorable event, featuring an exciting lineup of feature films, documentaries, shorts, and student films, all centered on themes of hope, faith, and redemption.

Highlights of the 2024 Festival Include:

Greetings filmmakers, fans, actors and supporters of Christian Films! 

Thanks to everyone of you that submitted your projects to our festival this year. Without you, there would be no festival. We have completed the selection process for this year’s film festival. The 2024 Great Lakes Christian Film Festival (#GLCFF2024) is gearing up for some great events, screenings and networking opportunities.

We are made the final plans for hosting this years festival in Buffalo, New York this fall. We are excited about having our host the film fest, as it is near on of the Seven Wonders of the World “Niagara Falls” so get bring your passports, if you want to visit the Canadian side.

2023 had the most competitive selections to chose from. The filmmaking process has indeed increased in quality of storytelling, performance and production value the past several years, making this year’s projects the most difficult to award the Best of the Fest. Award-winning filmmaker, screenwriter and social influencer. He is a trailblazer of a film style that creates poetic images of extraordinary emotional impact together with profound meaning for audiences worldwide. Debizhev is prominent in the film world as one of the most authoritative documentarian of Russia.

He has directed more than 30 feature films and nonfiction stories about important issues of our time. Many of them were awarded prizes and diplomas from prestigious international and Russian film festivals. His film, The Celestial Tavrida, was shortlisted for 27th Shanghai TV Festival Magnolia Awards as the Best foreign film and 11th China Academy Awards of Documentary Film for Best editing.
