Happy 500th Year Anniversary

Congrats Martin Luther! Acting on this belief, he wrote the “Disputation on the Power and Efficacy of Indulgences,” also known as “The 95 Theses,” a list of questions and propositions for debate. Popular legend has it that on October 31, 1517 Luther defiantly nailed a copy of his 95 Theses to the door of the Wittenberg Castle church.

Director: Stephen McCaskell

In 1517, Pope Leo X announced a new round of indulgences to help build St. Peter’s Basilica. On October 31, 1517, an angry monk nailed a sheet of paper with 95 theses on the university’s chapel door. Theologian Martin Luther forever changed Christianity when he began a movement in 16th-century Europe.

It’s a wrap!

What an incredible event this year. We had great films, awesome guests, and a fun awards ceremony. Over 40 films were screened with a great variety of diverse subjects and stories, some of which were real tear jerkers. Our Special guest, Lindsey Partridge and Frank Rossi blessed us with their inspiring visits, not to mention our awesome panel of filmmakers. Also, we hosted an exciting awards ceremony that we streamed LIVE on facebook.

As tired as we were after the event, we are already planning and getting ready for next year’s film festival – we got a great lineup planned for Buffalo. Stay tuned as we update our site frequently with all the new details.
