Durrell Nelson: Horses in Film [workshop] #GLCFF2016
Durrell is the director and producer of the movie TEXAS REIN. During his thirty years in the film business, Durrell has worked as a writer, actor, director, and producer. His credits as a SAG actor includes DROP DEAD DIVA, KILLING LINCOLN, JAG, AN AMERICAN CAROL, X-FILES, GENERAL HOSPITAL and MELROSE PLACE. Durrell garnered an LA Weekly Theatre Award Nomination for Best Leading Male Performance in Horton Foote’s HABITATION OF DRAGONS.
Durrell is a recipient of the prestigious Jerome Lawrence Award for his play FALLING LIGHTLY. His play SILENT NIGHT, STILLE NACHT (A Soldier’s Song) opened to rave reviews December 2002 in Los Angeles and his screenplay, THE HOME GAME, took first prize at the Maryland Film Festival in 2010.
Durrell holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Queens University of Charlotte, a Masters of Professional Writing from the University of Southern California and is a summa cum laude graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Finance from Woodbury University.
Durrell and his wife/screenwriter Rebecca Rogers Nelson are co-owners of Beautiful Feet Productions.
